Requirements for processing a Brazil Visa

A Brazil visa application can be professionally processed through Sam’s Passport and Visa Services. A visa application form for Brazil, as well as requirements for a tourist, business and work visa for Brazil is provided for your convenience.

Holiday Schedule (the consulate will recognize the following holidays) September 3rd and 7th - October 8th - November 22nd -23rd - December 26th.

 

Houston Jurisdiction - Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

Florida - All locations in Florida.

Atlanta Jurisdiction - Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, US Virgin Islands and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.

Boston Jurisdiction - Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Chicago Jurisdiction - Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, south Dakota, and Wisconsin.

 

Los Angeles Jurisdiction - Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming and the following Counties in California: Imperial, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura.

San Francisco Jurisdiction - Alaska, Oregon, Washington and in California, all counties not included in the jurisdiction of Los Angeles.

Washington D.C. Jurisdiction - The District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio.

Houston Jurisdiction - Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. - The Consulate of Brazil in Houston only accepts applications for submission on Tuesday's and Thursday's.

Passport Information

  • Passport must be valid 6 months beyond intended stay.

  • The original passport must be submitted and should have at least two blank visa pages for processing.

  • Non U.S. Citizens must provide a notarized copy, front and back of a U.S. Green card or I-94; in order to have a visa processed.

  • Processing Time For Brazil Visa's in Houston will be a minimum of 7 working day's No Exceptions!
  • Tourist visa applications are now jurisdictional, applications that are sent out of jurisdiction for processing will be subject to additional services fees that will apply to the consulate of submission and Sam's service fees.
  • Police reports for work visas must have been obtained within the last 60 days.

 

 

Tourist Visa

  • Passport must be signed and valid for at least 6 months beyond intended stay.
  • Processing time for Brazil Tourist Visas in Houston will be 7 working days and can only be submitted on Tuesday's and Thursdays.
  • The Visa Request Form - Link, is required for the completion of the visa.

  • All applicants need to provide a notarized copy of their State Driver's License. The notarization must take place in the state where the license was issued.

  • 1 Online Houston Application - Brazil Visa Application form- Link, fully completed and signed. All fields must be completed, this includes the fields with the red stars and the fields without the red stars next to them.
  • 1 Recently issued (within the last six months) Passport-type photograph on (white background without tint). Attention - the consulate will only accept actual 2x2 passport type photographs from a reputable source, i.e. Kinkos, Walgreens, CVS, etc. Photos printed at home or from an office printer will not be accepted under any circumstances. Photos that are sent in invalid format will be rejected and will cause a delay in submission at the travelers expense.
  • Copy of your flight itinerary.
  • Please follow detailed instructions below when completing online application:
    • When you enter the online application site, after reading the instructions, click on the tab to the left that says (VISA REQUEST) then select you travel classification, in this section, tourist will be selected, click (NEXT) and after reading the instruction page, click on the (GENERAL DATA) tab in order to begin your application process
    • Two copies of the Brazil Visa Application will need to be printed when completing an online visa applications request.
    • The photo must be glued, not stapled.  Also, the photo must not be touching  the “bar code” of the application.
    • The signature must be original and must “stay” inside signature box.  Any signature that carries over to outside of box will be rejected.
    • Attention - In order to successfully obtain your visa, all fields of the application must be completed according to the instruction above and on the web site. Failure to follow all of the requirements will result in a rejection of the application by the Consulate of Brazil which can delay you process and cause you to delay your travel. Sam's Passport & Visa will not be held liable for any delays due to incorrect applications and we cannot make any changes once it has been submitted by the client.

  • In addition, the application will need to be signed inside the box by both parents and notarized
  • All applications for minors will require an original birth certificate and a copy of the parents marriage license.
  • For parents traveling with children who are adopted, please be prepared to provide valid copies of the adoption documents.



Business Visa

( Business visas) are only for applicants who are going to attend business meetings, sales, marketing, conference) any other activities such as work, technical meetings, offshore activities, installation, training would result of denying the issuance of your visa. These kind of activities will require to apply for a work visa please see the requirements for work visa below.

  • All applicants need to provide a notarized copy of their State Driver's License. The notarization must take place in the state where the license was issued.
  • Processing time for Brazil Business Visas in Houston will be 7 working days and can only be submitted on Tuesday and Thursday.

Work Visa (Attention - work visas are not jurisdictional, as long as the MRE approval has been sent to the Houston Consulate prior to submission of visa paperwork) U.S. Citizens.

               (For non U.S. Citizens, the applicant will need to provide a proof of U.S. status that he or she is indeed in the United States at the time of the applications submission.

  • Passport must be signed and valid for at least 6 months beyond intended stay.
  • The Visa Request Form - Link, is required for the completion of the visa.
  • Processing time for Brazil Work Visas in Houston will be 7 working days and can only be submitted on Tuesday's and Thursday's .
  • 2 Online Brazil Visa Application form- Link, fully completed and signed. All fields must be completed! Any application with blank fields i.e. fields 12 through 16, Fathers and Mothers name, Nationality, will be rejected by the consulate. Corrections cannot be made by ink pen. All application must be typed in the online form provided and printed. Sam's Passport & Visa Services will not be held liable for incorrect or incomplete applications. 
  • All applicants need to provide a notarized copy of their State Driver's License. The notarization must take place in the state where the license was issued.
  • Effective immediately all work visa applicants will now need an original Birth Certificate or a State issued Certified Copy.
  • FBI clearance reports are needed for MRE approved work visas.

  • 2 Recently issued (within the last six months) Passport-type photographs required (white background without tint). Attention the consulate will only accept actual 2x2 passport type photographs from a reputable source, i.e. Kinkos, Walgreens, CVS, etc. Photos printed at home or from an office printer will not be accepted under any circumstances. Photos that are sent in invalid format will be rejected and will cause a delay in submission at the travelers expense.

  • A business A (Notarized) Letter of Guarantee – Link is required, to be typed on your company letterhead and addressed to: Consulate of Brazil/Visa Section/ Houston TX. That must clearly explain the purpose of travel; Applicants title; Guarantee financial support for the visit and return transportation; The duration of stay; Name and contact information for a reference in Brazil and their function; Name of organization that business will be conducted with; the letter should be signed by an officer or manager of the company, other than the applicant.

  • An original Police Report from the State or County of residence that was obtained within the last 60 days. The police report must have a wet seal along with a notary stamp or a dry raised seal.

  • In order to obtain a Work Visa for Brazil, applicants must obtain a Protocol Approval from the Ministry of Labor in Brazil (MRE #). This approval will be processed through the company you are going to perform services for in Brazil. The Protocol Approval will have to arrive at the local consulate in advance of the processing or issuance of the Work Visa.

  • Citizens from the following countries applying for a business visa are subject to prior consultation with the Ministry of Foreign External Relations in Brazil and the following additional information such as detailed information on applicants place of lodging in Brazil (hotel reservation or letter from Brazilian host) and 3 months bank statements are required: Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Jordan, Nigeria, Palestine, Pakistan, Senegal and Syria; Citizens from these countries can expect a delay in visa processing.

Q. What is a visa? And why do I need one.
A. A visa is a stamp that is affixed to a blank visa page in your passport that is required by foreign countries before you are able to enter their territory.

Q. Do I need to send you my passport in order to receive a visa?
A. Yes, your passport must be submitted with the required paperwork and photos in order to obtain a visa for traveling outside the USA. For visa service in Houston, you can drop off your passport at our agency.

All U.S. Citizens who are traveling by air will now be required to carry a U.S. Passport.

Adults over 19 years of age will require a passport if traveling outside the U.S. by car, including Canada and Mexico.

U.S. Citizens 19 and under do not require a U.S. Passport if they are traveling outside the U.S. by land or sea.

Closed Loop Cruises: U.S. Citizens who board a cruise ship at a port within the United States, travel only within the Western Hemisphere, and return to the same U.S. port on the same ship may present government-issued photo identification, along with proof of citizenship (an original birth certificate or a Consular report of Birth Abroad, or a Certificate of Naturalization).

Note - You may still be required to present a passport card or passport book to enter the foreign country to which you are traveling.  Please contact your cruise line to verify which documents are required for your trip.


Processing time for Brazil Visas will now take a minimum of 7-10 working days.

Each applicant must submit a fully completed Passport/Visa Request Form for all services. This form is necessary in order to begin and complete all transactions.
